Water Dream
"By immobilizing the image of the sky, the lake creates a sky within itself."
— Gaston Bachelard
Water is fascinating, elusive and luminous. It reflects, distorts, and transfigures. Inspired by its interplay of transparency and iridescence, I explored its evocative power through a collection of furnishing materials where textiles, tapestry, wallpaper, ceramics, and lighting capture the fluidity and depth of aquatic landscapes.
The starting point for this research lies in my film photographs of waterscapes, capturing the moment when light touches the surface, when reflection becomes abstraction. From these images, materials, textures, and colors were born, reinventing the ephemeral.
Most of the textiles and materials were created by me in the Decorative Arts workshops, exploring the material through plastic and textile experimentation. For some specific skills, I collaborated with Benaud Création, a specialist in moiré fabrics, and the Galerie Diurne for the tapestry work, as well as the support of the Bettencourt Schueller Foundation.
